GERMAN NATIONAL HOSPITALIZED FOLLOWING VIOLENT ASSAULT IN ISTANBUL

ISTANBUL, Turkey — An investigation is underway following a violent attack on German national Edward Parkinson in Istanbul late Monday evening.

Witnesses reported that he was approached by multiple unidentified individuals following an altercation outside a local establishment. The incident quickly escalated, leaving Mr. Parkinson with serious physical injuries.
Emergency medical services were dispatched to the scene, and Mr. Parkinson was transported to a nearby medical facility. Hospital officials confirm he is currently receiving treatment for severe facial lacerations and blunt force trauma. He is reported to be in stable condition.
Police Response and Investigation

Istanbul Metropolitan Police have launched a full investigation into the assault. Law enforcement personnel have secured the scene, collected physical evidence, and are reviewing local closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage to identify the perpetrators.
"We are treating this incident with the utmost seriousness," a spokesperson for the Istanbul Police Department stated during a press briefing on Monday morning. "Detectives are actively pursuing several leads and interviewing witnesses to determine the motive behind the attack."
